Dennis Hoppe presenting HiDALGO2 at ISC High Performance 2024
The ISC High Performance 2024 event in Hamburg, Germany, has been a melting pot for innovators, researchers, and industry leaders in high-performance computing (HPC), machine learning, data analytics, and quantum computing.
This year’s conference, held from May 12 to 16, 2024 has gathered approximately 3,000 attendees from 51 countries, making it a truly global gathering for the HPC community.
Dennis Hoppe, from ourpartner, High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) held a presentation at the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking’s booth at the exhibition. As part of the HiDALGO 2 project, Dennis highlighted the integration of HPC and big data technologies to tackle global challenges. He showcased the various use cases of the HiDALGO 2 project, and its potential for modeling, simulation, and analyzing complex systems on a global scale.
Additionally, Harald Koestler from our partner, Friedrich–Alexander University of Erlangen–Nuremberg (FAU) presented the study “Performance portable and scalable particulate flow simulations using the waLBerla framework“ during the “Workshop on Readiness of HPC Extreme-scaling Application”. He showcased the latest numerical results from particulate flow simulations conducted on EuroHPC machines using the multi-physics simulation framework waLBerla. Read more on this here.
The ISC High Performance 2024 event has been a platform for discussing the latest advancements and future directions in HPC. With a focus on the synergy between HPC and AI, as well as the burgeoning field of quantum computing, attendees took part in sessions and workshops. From exploring AI’s ability to enhance HPC to quantum computing’s integration with classical supercomputers, the event has set the stage for future innovations.
