The HiDALGO2 project is proud to announce the 2nd Workshop on Advancements of Global Challenges Applications (AGCA), held in conjunction with the 16th International Conference on Parallel Processing and Applied Mathematics (PPAM 2026).
The event will take place from August 30 to September 2, 2026, in the historic city of Poznań, Poland.
Bridging the Gap: Simulations for a Better World
As we move further into the Exascale era, the ability to simulate complex systems is no longer just a scientific milestone—it is a necessity. The AGCA workshop serves as a premier forum for researchers and practitioners to present innovative methods for developing high-scale applications that address Global Challenges (GC).
From urban air quality and wildfire spread to renewable energy optimisation and social crises, the AGCA workshop explores how the synergy of HPC, AI, and Big Data can provide the high-fidelity solutions required by decision-makers today.
Scope and Topics
We invite original research papers focusing on, but not limited to:
- Mathematical Modelling: New approaches to data acquisition and model coupling for GCs.
- High-Fidelity Simulations: Scalability and performance optimisation on Exascale infrastructures.
- AI & Big Data Integration: Utilising machine learning to enhance traditional simulation accuracy.
- Visualisation: Advanced techniques for interpreting complex simulation data.

Publication Opportunities
Selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. Furthermore, authors of the best papers will be invited to submit extended versions to special issues of highly-ranked journals, such as Future Generation Computer Systems.
