The HiDALGO2 Clustering Event “HPC and Big Data Technologies Addressing Global Challenges” was held on 4 November 2025 at the High‑Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) in Stuttgart, Germany.

Organized by Future Needs, the HiDALGO2 leader in Outreach, Awareness, and Impact Creation, the event brought together leading researchers, industry experts, policymakers, and SMEs to explore how high-performance computing (HPC), big data and AI technologies can tackle complex environmental and societal challenges.

Highlights included keynote addresses, panel discussions, and live demonstrations of five real-world pilot use-cases — covering urban air pollution, energy efficiency in buildings and cities, wildfires, renewable energy forecasting, and water-pollution & material transport models.

The event served as a dynamic platform for cross-sector collaboration and innovation, offering participants direct engagement with Europe’s leading HPC research infrastructure and helping to pave the way for enhanced simulation-based solutions to global challenges.
