HiDALGO2 Researchers to Edit Special Issue of Journal “Electronics”

HiDALGO2 is delighted to announce that three researchers with the project have been invited to guest edit a special issue of the prestigious journal Electronics.

Project Coordinator Dr Marcin Lawenda (Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center), Dr Harald Köstler (Friedrich-Alexander-University) and Prof. Christophe Prud’homme (University of Strasbourg) will oversee the publication of the special issue under the title “Innovations and Advancements in Parallel and Distributed Systems”.

In a message introducing the special issue, the guest editors write:

“The objective of this Special Issue is to gather the most recent achievements and novel solutions in the design, implementation, and application of parallel and distributed computing systems. Original research and comprehensive reviews focusing on the evolution of multi-core and heterogeneous architectures, including those utilizing accelerators, will be of particular interest.

“We also invite studies on distributed algorithms, scalable system design, big data processing frameworks, parallel programming paradigms, and cloud-to-edge computing infrastructures. Submissions that present practical implementations of fundamental issues through large-scale computations simulating real-world phenomena are encouraged.

“Furthermore,we welcome papers that examine fault tolerance, reliability, and resource orchestration within distributed environments. Moreover, we seek contributions that investigate the convergence of distributed systems with fields such as artificial intelligence and data analysis.”

The deadline for submission of manuscripts for the special issue is the 31st of March, 2026. However, note that all manuscripts that pass peer review will be published as soon as they are accepted, and will be listed together on the special issue website.

For more detailed information about the suggested topics for the special issue, as well as guidance on the submission process, please visit the relevant page on the Electronics website here.
